Box.com Authentication🔗

The Box plugin signs FileRun users in with their Box.com accounts.

Enable and configure the plugin from the control panel, under Users → Authentication. Select Box from the Enabled plugin list.

Step 1: Create the Box application🔗

Open the Box Developer Console and create a new app using User Authentication (OAuth 2.0).

In the app's configuration, set the redirect URI. FileRun shows the exact value in the Redirect URL field of the plugin's settings; copy it from there with the button next to the field.

Step 2: Configure the FileRun plugin🔗

From the app's configuration page, copy into FileRun:

• Box OAuth 2.0 Client ID
• Box OAuth 2.0 Client Secret

Step 3: Testing🔗

Use the Save and test authentication button before enabling the plugin, and open the test link in a private browser window.

Important

Keep Allow local user accounts to log in enabled until you are sure the setup works. If you are locked out, follow Disabling the authentication integration.

Note

This plugin authenticates users. It does not give FileRun access to the files stored in Box.
