Mobile apps

To be able to use the mobile apps with your FileRun installation you need to enable the API.

An SSL enabled web server is required. (Your FileRun URL needs to start with “https://” and not “http://”). (For testing only, you can temporarily enable the API via “http://”. See “Testing without SSL”)

Please follow these steps:

  1. Login to the FileRun installation as superuser.
  2. Open the control panel.
  3. Select “API” from the menu (under “Security”).
  4. Select the “Enable API” checkbox.
  5. Click “Save Changes”.

You can use any WebDAV compatible app, such as:

For connecting via WebDAV, please see this page.

Potentially compatible app:

Note taking app: Joplin

Download from for MacOS, Linux, Windows, iOS or Android.

This is a guide on how to synch your notes from your various devices using FileRun as a server.

In Joplin' settings:

  1. Choose WebDAV as synchronization target.
  2. WebDAV URL: https://mydomain.tld/filerun/dav.php/%40Home/Joplin

Edit the WebDAV URL to match your FileRun installation URL. The ending Joplin word is the name of the folder used for storing the notes data. You will need to create this folder in FileRun, under your FileRun home folder.

FileRun doesn't allow currently to create hidden folders (name starting with a dot), that is why it fails because Joplin tries to create a hidden folder. There is a workaround. Create a configuration file and add this to it:

$config['app']['hidden_folder_names'] = ['.filerun.*'];
